The efforts of Cossack national activists are aimed at restoring the rights of our people and have a long history. It is therefore unclear how much longer we are able to fight. At the very top of the Cossack elite, there is a saying that is best described as “Do not give into anything that is not Cossack!” They believe the recognition of the Cossacks as independent people, will lead to adverse political consequences, at the same time, no recognition will pose no threat.
The current government is constantly recalculating their approach to Cossacks, resulting in constant changes to the political agenda. If they were to pursue a more loyal approach, they would gain more benefits and a minimum of associated complications. Unfortunately, the current policy is not entirely harmless. There is absolutely no reason for them to believe that we will abandon the struggle for a national revival of our people. In addition, the Cossack National movement is not localized within a single organization. It has no single person as the ideological inspire, and there is no need to assume the Western intelligence services are pulling the strings. It is totally useless to “beat the staff” of an entity, as it simply does not exist. However, the Cossack national movement is increasing in the amount of supporters and activists. Among the supporters there has been a significant up rise in the amount of youth involved, and as we all know, the youth is our future, and the future of the world. Why is this happening? Because the Cossack people are still alive, and while we are alive, we have the desire to be recognized, and to be masters of our lands. You can certainly try to place a spoke in the wheel to slow the process, but it is unstoppable.
Russian authorities, harden their resistance, radicalizing Cossacks, and enforcing the idea that without Russia, Cossacks will cease to exist, having no future. Well, it is a pity of course, but the modern Russian state, is on the same path as before, consisting of ideologies with old approaches and attitudes. Today, the Russian policy has made it clear that they will dissolve the Cossack national movement, but it still manages to survive even against their will.
The question then arises, what can we the Cossacks do for our own people? In reality, there is much we can do, but I warn everyone, that you should not expect see the effects immediate. It is just like harvesting a walnut. It begins to bear fruit within eight to twelve years, and thus many people refuse to even start the process. In respect to Cossack movements, it might take twenty, thirty, or even fifty years, before we are able to see a slight sign of resolution. As each year goes by, the Cossack movement becomes larger, and the effect will then be on a more massive scale when the time comes. There is a huge advantage of the modern Cossack nationalists compared to the past ones. We are able to preach our values, and not live in exile. Recently, we have seen all type of indigenous people take rise, and fight for their recognition as a people, we are not alone in this battle.
Let me remind you that the modern history of Israel beings not in 1947 when it was proclaimed, but it became with patriot immigrants, who since the late 19th Century began to settle in an alien Arabian sea. They had to buy the lands of the fathers from the Arabs, even though they already knew it was their land to begin with.
The Cossack lands are more than just a political objective, it is the survival of our people as a nation. Not all will be happy on their historical land, but at least they will know that they were able to take back the lands of their ancestors. A place where your right is undeniable. It is a miracle the Israeli were able to gain a foothold and survive the hostile Arab environments, and revive their national home. Are the Don Cossacks that much worse? Every person who has Cossack blood flowing through their veins, should have the some desire to reestablish what was taken away from us, and should be fighting for our recognition of the Cossack people
The lord gives to each person a gift. Some are good organizers, other are able to write, and etc. Our people should put together their talents and gifts, and not refuse to fight for our recognized, only because they are respectable or accomplished in life. Cossacks were crippled by the tsarist Russia and destroyed by Soviet Russia. We are a fragmentary remain, of what once was a whole. There is still hope, where we can all unit our thinking, stand together, and carry on the traditions, values, and beliefs set forth by our ancestors.
The work of restoring the Cossack identity, is a matter of separating self from other. There has to be a built wall against the aliens of our world. Everything that we see today labeled as anti-Cossack, is the result of the Russification and Sovietization of our fatherland. Let us not defend the values of the people who came to destroy us, let us defend the values of our people and of our way of life.
What does it mean to erect a wall to the outsiders? In a way, it will prove that you are not a Russian, and they you are not inferior to them. Abandon the stereotypes of which are constantly mentioned about us. You must understand the full meaning behind supporting your people. We should encourage Cossack marriages, and raise our children to teach them of our history. Learn to honor our national heroes, and celebrate our national holidays. Look at countries like Japan or Israel, they are in no hurry to be open to the outside world and take on outside values. They preserve their values, history, and their people.
It is important to establish communications with people of similar goals. Just the fact that someone declares himself to be a Cossack and is accepted into the community is a bit premature. Cossack were and are different. We need honest people who are open to the idea of our lands, and our identity. Now is not the time for adventures or opportunist to infest our people’s minds. All of these scums tried to manipulate the Cossacks into their own selfish interests.
The Cossacks who truly want their rights, identity, and territory, will never stop in their fight, and will continue to have it in their hearts. So how can we relate to those who place on Cossack clothes and call themselves Cossacks discrediting our people? They are enemies who are trying to kill our people and we should treat them accordingly. Any Cossack who assimilated into Russian or other foreign environment is just a stranger to us.
So it turns out that under present conditions we can do a lot, but the main concern is the promotion of the free Cossack ideas.
Now I want to mention that Cossack have been long known for our orthodox faith and loyalty to Christ. Many of our people suffered persecution, distress and many gave their loves for the faith. I think it would be proper to address a prayer to the Lord for the preservation of the Cossack Nation and grant the Cossack state. I say this at the end of the article, because like all good work, it must be done with God. Calling all Cossacks in your prayer and ask God to have mercy on us. The Lord will not leave those who are faithful to him
