Stanitsa Nikolskaya Cossacks at the Shooting Range

Ataman of Stanitsa Nikolskaya Dimitry Bagaydin, organized a trip to the shooting range on June 28th, 2015. The Cossacks spent the day shooting historical, and modern firearms. As Ataman Dimitiry mentioned" Apart from the renovation of the Church hall, I organize events in which all Cossacks are able to participate in. A trip to the shooting range is just the beginning." The Cossacks of Stanitsa Nikolskaya have already made future arrangements for a camping event in the Poconos, and horse riding.

Stanitsa Nikolskaya Church Hall Renovation Continues

On June 20th, 2015 a group of Cossacks of Stanitsa Nikolskaya continued the work for renovation of the church hall. Ataman of Stanitsa Nikolskaya Dimitry Bagaydin has taken responsibility of overseeing the renovation personally, and has agreed to stick to the plan as set forth by the administrative krug from the previous week. So far, the renovation is on schedule and is planned to be completed in mid September, which is on time for the 6th Annual Cossack Congress in America set for October 3rd.

Stanitsa Nikolskaya Administrative Krug

On June 14th, 2015 Stanitsa Nikolskaya held their administrative Krug. The krug began with a prayer, followed by a word from Ataman of the Stanitsi, Konstantin Samokhin, who asked the Krug to relieve him of his position due to personal reasons. Konstantin has been Ataman since December of 2011. Following Konstantins resignation, the Krug elected Dimitry Bagaydin as Ataman of Stanitsa Nikolskaya, and Vice Ataman Anatoliy Vyshnevetskiy, both of whom are currently leading the renovation of the church hall.

Victims of Communism memorial foundation's 8th Annual Roll Call of Nations

The Victims of Communism memorial foundation held it's 8th annual roll call of nations wreath laying ceremony and presentation of the Truman-Reagan medal of freedom. Recipients of the medal of freedom were Alexander Podrabinek of Russia, and Guillermo Fariñas of Cuba. The memorial itself was dedicated to honor every victim of Communism by an act of Congress in 1993.

Massacre of Cossacks in Lienz Memorial at St. John the Baptist Cossack Chapel in New Jersey

On June 7th, Cossacks gathered to commemorate the 70th year anniversary of the Massacre of Cossacks at Lienz at Saint John the Baptist Chapel in New Jersey. Memorial service was led by Protopresbyter Valery Lukianov (pastor emeritus of St. Alexander Nevsky Diocesan Cathedral in Howell, NJ) was co-served by Eastern American Diocesan secretary Archpriest Serge Lukianov (chaplain of the Kuban Cossack Voisko Abroad), Archpriest Alexey Bocharnikov (chaplain of the Cossack Congress in America), Archpriest Boris Slootsky, Protodeacon Leonid Roschko, and Deacon Paul Drozdowski (clerics of St.

Cossack Community in California 1950s

In the 20th Century, Cossacks immigrated all around the world, and the United States had it's share of Cossack communities from one coast to the other. American-Cossack Communities can still be found today, and majority have been united under the Cossack Congress in America. However, some today are only known by name, as many of the founders and members of these communities have passed away, or moved to a different state. Yet, their memories live on, and so we are happy to share the small Cossack community from Glendora, California.

Memorial Service and Opening of Cossack Chapel in Lienz Austria

2015 marks the 70th year anniversary of the Cossack Massacre in Lienz, Austria following the end of World War II. The construction of the memorial Cossack chapel was finished on time and its consecration occurred on the occasion of the commemoration. Cossacks from all over the world gathered in Austria for the ceremony including Cossacks from Northern America. Vladimir Boldereff, from the Stanitsa named after Ataman Kaledin, Montreal, Canada was the representative of the Cossack Congress in America. Ataman Alexander Pevnev of the Kuban Cossacks Abroad was also present at the commemoration.

Stanitsa Nikolskaya Church Hall Renovations

Cossacks of Stanitsa Nikoskaya and from New Jersey gathered together to begin renovation work on the Church hall. This renovation is extremely important as the 6th Annual Cossack Congress in America is set to take place in the Stanitsa. Vice Ataman Dimitry Bagaydin of the Stanitsa expressed the importance that all Cossacks participate in the renovation, especially when more help will become needed very soon. We remind everyone that the Stanitsa will hold its administrative Krug on June 14, 2015 following divine liturgy.
